COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have released the name of the man who died in what they said was a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the intersection of Academy Boulevard and Chelton Road around 6 a.m. and found 68-year-old Antonio Gallegos dead in the street just south of Chelton.

Officers aren't investigating the death as a homicide but are asking anyone who saw Gallegos walking or saw someone get hit by a car to come forward. You can call (719) 444-7000 to give officers any information you have.

The investigation is ongoing. As of Tuesday afternoon officers did not have a car description.
