COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers released more details about the 7-week-old baby who was found in the hospital with a skull fracture after being brought in by his mother on St. Patrick's Day.

In an affidavit report, officers stated 7-week-old Ezra Johnson's father, 22-year-old Daniel Kim, admitted to hitting his son with his fist "with basically everything I could throw" to stop him from crying the morning of March 17.

Kim told officers he and Johnson were both sleeping in the same room around 9 a.m. when Kim woke up to Johnson crying.  After not being able to get Johnson to stop crying, Kim said he "snapped," hitting him with his fist.

When Johnson's mother, Brittany Johnson, came home from work around noon that day, Ezra was sleeping, but she noticed bruises on both cheeks and a flat spot on the right side of his head that she said felt like it had fluid inside. Kim denied knowing what had happened, but after talking with her father, Brittany took her son to the hospital.

Hospital officials called officers when they suspected the injuries may have been caused by someone else, and officers arrested Kim after interviewing him.

Kim has been charged with child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury. Ezra's condition is still unknown.
