COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Kim Cerjan has done it.
The Doherty High School girls basketball player won the American Family Insurance High School 3-Point Championship contest Monday. The contest called for fans to vote on Facebook, and Cerjan won the championship round, defeating her opponent from Arizona with 60 percent of the total vote.
Cerjan was selected by CBS Sports as one of 16 finalists after her coach submitted a video of her shooting 3-pointers in a local contest. Cerjan was then put into a bracket and advanced each round by collecting more total votes than her opponents. Fans were allowed just one vote per day from their Facebook accounts.
Cerjan, a 5'10" forward who will attend St. Olaf College, now moves on to New Orleans to compete in the national contest, which will air live on CBS Sports April 1.
The contest takes place the same weekend as the NCAA Men's Final Four, which is also in New Orleans.
