Car theft leaves Olympic athlete without gear

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are on the look out for a suspect accused of a car theft that has left an Olympic athlete without his much-needed equipment.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Mesa Road in Monument Valley Park for a reported car theft.

The victim told officers he was an Olympic athlete and the bag stolen contained personal items needed to compete in his upcoming Olympic trials.

One of the items taken was an Anschutz competition air pistol.

Officers have obtained surveillance video at businesses where the victim's credit card had been used and are searching for a suspect.
