Ex-sheriff's office worker pleads guilty to theft

PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- A former employee of the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office has pleaded guilty to stealing from the evidence room.

Colorado Springs television station KKTV reports Tara Adame has pleaded guilty to felony theft and first-degree official misconduct. She is scheduled to be sentenced April 24.

Court documents say investigators in the case discovered that more than $10,500 and 200 pain pills were missing from at least 15 cases, some of which dated back to 2008.
