COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- For the third time this week, a dog attack has been reported to authorities, and all three attacks have involved a pit bull.
Around 10:30 a.m. Friday, Colorado Springs Police officers were notified that two dogs were attacking a deer near a drainage ditch in the 700 block of Rockrimmon Boulevard in the city. Officers said the dogs were a black Husky and a tan pit bull mix.
When officers arrived, they found the deer had a severe neck injury and had to put it down.
The two dogs were found a short time later nearby and were taken to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
This is the third reported dog attack in six days in El Paso County.
On Sunday, a pit bull allegedly bit the face of a 9-month-old girl in Yoder. On Thursday, a man shot a pit bull and was ruled justified in doing so when it and a boxer attacked his dog and another dog in Colorado Springs.
