COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. --
Officials with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office are investigating a double shooting.
It happened Tuesday night around 6 p.m. at a home on Chieftan Drive near Markscheffel Road and Bradley Road southeast of the Colorado Springs Airport.
The two victims were found dead inside the home. No names have been released, but authorities said the victims include a 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.
Three kids, all under the age of 10, were also inside the home at the time but were not harmed.
The children are now in the custody of the El Paso County Victim Assistance Program.
Neighbors said they are shocked and saddened by the news.
"We've never had anything like this happen. It's surprising, it's shocking and it's so sad," Melonie Wilson, who has lived in the neighborhood for 16 years, said.
Tracy Martinez, who has lived there for 17 years agreed.
"It is truly like a Mr. Rodger's neighborhood. The kids are always out playing, parents are always watching out for the other kids, and we all help take care of each other always," she said.
Officials said they're not looking for any suspects, and the public is not in danger.
More information will be available Wednesday after the autopsies are conducted.
