Woman strangled, beaten by boyfriend

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers arrested a man Thursday morning for allegedly assaulting and strangling his girlfriend.

According to the woman, 27-year-old Lyman Lee physically assaulted and strangled her during a domestic disturbance in the 3900 block of East Bijou Street around 4:21 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found Lee walking away from the apartment. When they contacted him, they found him holding a gun in a holster.

The woman said Lee did not use or threaten her with the gun during the strangling. She was treated and released at Memorial Hospital.

Lee is being charged with second degree assault.
