COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs man has a warrant out for his arrest after allegedly assaulting his wife in front of their 6-year-old daughter Tuesday night.
According to Colorado Springs Police officers, the woman told them she was assaulted by her husband, 42-year-old Mark Royer, while their daughter pleaded for him to stop.
The woman ran from their home in the 2900 block of Roche Drive South around 10:45 p.m. While running, she called 911 and told officers she was in danger, but she lost connection.
When officers arrived, they found her outside trying to get back in to get her daughter. Royer was inside but did not come out even after officers demanded him to do so. They said he may have ran out the back door when they arrived.
Officers said both the man and woman were drunk at the time.
Royer is wanted on domestic abuse and child abuse charges. The woman and her daughter have been taken to a safe place.
