Body found at Fort Carson identified

FORT CARSON, COLO. -- Fort Carson officials have identified a body found on base in a case they are investigating as a possible murder.

Officials said 28-year-old Spc. Brandy Fonteneaux was found dead in the barracks around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Fonteneaux was a food service specialist in the 4th Engineer Battalion and served in the Army for more than two years.

Death investigated as homicide

Soldier found dead in barracks

Special agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command are investigating Fonteneaux's death as a homicide but haven't released any other information about the case.

They did say there is likely no further threat to people at Fort Carson
