COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have arrested two people so far, and more arrests could be coming after a major marijuana grow operation was discovered in the city.
So far, officers have arrested 28-year-old Peter Mattaroo and 28-year-old Kristine Bauer, but they said arrests are pending for two others.
Officers first found out about the business when they pulled over three underage people and found marijuana in the car, which they said they said purchased from an apartment.
When officers searched the apartment in the 200 block of Lionstone Drive, they found a dispensary operation in one of the bedrooms which included a cash register, credit card machine, a functioning camera system with multiple cameras and marijuana for sale in displays. Officers said they also found guns, marijuana, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms and prescription pills.
Officers also found a grow operation after obtaining a second search warrant and determined that was the place the apartment business got the marijuana from.
In all, officers seized 13 pounds of marijuana, 198 marijuana plants, 34.4 grams of cocaine, 7.2 grams of mushrooms, 68.5 prescription pills, 27 guns and a ballistic vest.
None of the people involved had a Medical Marijuana Registry Certificate, and the business did not have a license.
