COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are looking for a man who tried robbing a Waffle House restaurant early Sunday morning.
According to a Waffle House employee who works at the store in the 1000 block of Space Center Drive, a man who may be homeless walked in around 3:21 a.m., said he had a gun and demanded money.
The employee never saw the gun but said the man had his hand in his jacket. After repeatedly telling the suspect he didn't have any money, the suspect finally left.
According to the employee, the would-be robber had the look of a homeless man. Witnesses said he is about 5'4" with a thin build. He wore a green or black flannel, a hooded jacket and a black mesh-style mask with a thin band of fur.
Officers said nobody was hurt and is asking anyone with information to contact them at (719) 444-3140.
