EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- Another student has been approached by a stranger, this time at Talbott Elementary in Widefield School District 3.
According to a Widefield School District release to parents Tuesday, a fourth grade student was walking to school when she noticed a black car with two men in it.
The passenger, a white man with a tattoo on his neck, got out and started following her.
She then ran to school, and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office was notified.
This incident marks the fourth reported "stranger danger" case in the past two-and-a-half weeks.
Widefield School officials said these incidents are happening in every school district.
In fact, Colorado Springs School District 11 has dealt with three cases of students approached by strangers at Russell Middle School, Jenkins Middle School, and Sabin Middle School.
In the incident involving Jenkins M.S., two men approached two students and asked them to get into their car and help get a bike out the back.
The students said no.
"From the descriptions they all seem to be different vehicle descriptions, suspects, and in our discussion with the police we don't know if it's because people are being more vigilant about reporting it or if we're seeing more cases," Devra Ashby, spokeswoman for District 11, said.
All of the students involved made it back to safety and were not harmed.
District 11 school officials applaud their students for telling parents/school staff and staying away from suspicious people.
