PUEBLO COUNTY, COLO. -- The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, the Pueblo Police Department and surrounding agencies received a bomb truck to help in response to calls involving improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Pueblo County deputies asked for the truck as part of a grant The U.S. Department of Homeland Security provides to regions in which several law enforcement agencies cooperate.

Emergency management officials have been working with Homeland to secure grant money for the truck for some time.

The truck arrived earlier this week and was equipped, allowing specialized equipment to be centrally located and easily dispatched, according to deputies.

Deputies said because of the intense training and equipment required, unified efforts become critical.

Deputies hope the truck helps prevent IEDs from going off.
