Fugitive from Utah arrested in the Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers assisted the U.S. Marshal's Service Wednesday night in arresting a man wanted for several crimes in Utah.

Officers arrested 37-year-old Dave Thomas around 8:20 p.m. after a search warrant in the area of Academy Boulevard and American Drive, just south of Austin Bluffs Parkway in the city.

Officers found Thomas in a car in the area.

Thomas was wanted for possession of a weapon by a previous offender and various drug charges in Utah, though he was not wanted for any crimes in Colorado.

Thomas was released to the custody of the U.S. Marshal's Service.
