COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers arrested a man Monday evening for attacking and robbing another man in his car, as well as causing a disturbance at a McDonalds restaurant.
According to officers, Benjamin Martinez was involved in a disturbance at a McDonalds drive-thru in the 3000 block of West Colorado Avenue around 5:38 p.m. A McDonalds employee came out of the store to address Martinez, who pointed a gun at the employee before driving away.
Around 9:47 p.m., officers were called to the 7-11 in the 800 block of North Nevada Avenue after Martinez cut off a man while driving, then got out of his car and attacked the victim with his gun through an open window in the victim's car before stealing the victim's phone and wallet from the car.
Martinez returned to the same McDonalds restaurant around 10:42 p.m. Employees again called officers, who arrested him.
Martinez is charged with felony menacing from the earlier drive-thru incident as well as robbery. Officers found a handgun replica BB gun in Martinez's car.
