PUEBLO COUNTY, COLO. -- Pueblo County Sheriff's deputies have arrested five men and are looking for two additional people in a ring of thefts dating back to August.
Deputies arrested 20-year-old Leon Manning, 18-year-old Derek Bronken, 28-year-old Jeffrey Shenefelt, 26-year-old Randolph Wisdom and 31-year-old Justin VanMeter .
Most of the burglaries weren't initially reported because they were in vacant buildings. They also said several cars were broken into.
Deputies have investigated eight burglaries related to this ring. The first two were initiated in August, and a deputy recovered some stolen items in September. A source told police Maning, Bronken, Shenefelt and Wisdom had been involved in a number of burglaries and had stored the stolen items at a home in the 100 block of East Homer Drive.
When deputies searched that home, they found stolen items from five of the eight burglaries.
Bronken is charged with aggravated robbery, first degree burglary and second degree assault from a home invasion in October.
Manning and Shenefelt were arrested on failure to appear warrants, and Wisdom was arrested on unrelated charges out of Fremont County.
VanMeter was arrested Wednesday afternoon.
"I'm very proud of the work of our investigators unit which was proceeded by the diligent efforts of the patrol deputies," Sheriff Kirk Taylor said in a statement.
Deputies are still looking for 28-year-old Janet Ralya and 20-year-old Jarrett Torbett in connection with the burglaries.
In all, deputies said the investigation led to 28 felony warrants with a combined $1.04 million in bonds.
