COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- And then there were five after one of the bidders for Memorial Health System bows out.
In a release officials with the City of Colorado Springs said Community Health Systems has withdrawn from the "process to identify strategic options" for Memorial Health System.
That leaves five other organizations, Centura Health, HCA-HealthONE LLC, Memorial Health System, Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System, and University of Colorado Hospital Authority, in the running.
A task force has been assembled to individually score the remaining bids.
On Dec. 1 those members will submit their score sheets, and the bids will be made available to the public.
On Dec. 7 there will be a town hall-style meeting where bidders will be invited to give a brief presentation and answer any questions.
No later than Dec. 27 the task force will have to reach a consensus on what recommendation to take forward to the City Council.
