COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Two suspects, two different Walgreens stores, two different outcomes.
Colorado Springs Police officers were sent to the Walgreens store located at Platte Avenue and Murray Boulevard late Sunday night after they received information that two suspicious people wearing masks and carrying what appeared to be handguns were hanging around outside the store.
Officers said just before they arrived, the suspects fled the scene after being spotted by concerned citizens.
They left empty-handed.
Only 30 minutes later officers received a call from another Walgreens store, this one at Circle Drive and Galley Road, in reference to a robbery.
Officers said based on witness descriptions and video surveillance the two separate incidents involved the same suspects.
