COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers took a boy into custody Sunday night after he tried breaking into a store, then ran from officers.
According to officers, a witness saw several males break the front class of the 99 Cent Store in the 3300 block of North Academy Boulevard in the city. A canine officer responded and saw the boy running from the store.
The boy ignored the officer's demands to stop running, so the officer let loose his K-9, who caught the boy.
Officers said he was the only one who entered the store after breaking the glass. He was charged with second degree burglary, obstructing a police officer, possession of drugs and underage consumption of alcohol.
The boy had minor injuries to his hand, but nobody else was hurt.
