FORT CARSON, COLO. -- Fort Carson officials said five soldiers from one of their combat teams were wounded in Afghanistan Thursday.
According to officials, the 2nd Brigade Combat Team suffered a four-hour assault from Taliban insurgents Thursday.
The insurgents launched attacks from a three-story building near the U.S. compound at Camp Nathan Smith in Kandahar, Afghanistan. During the attack, five soldiers were wounded, but all are expected to live.
Thursday's attack was one of the largest Taliban attacks against the brigade since the team arrived in Afghanistan in June.
Officials said a few of the wounded soldiers were evacuated, and the rest were treated at the American camp.
