PUEBLO, COLO. -- Pueblo Police officers said a man died Wednesday afternoon after losing control of his car and crashing into the median wall on I-25 in Pueblo.
According to officers, the 64-year-old man was driving north in a 1993 black Jeep Cherokee around 2:08 p.m. when he lost control and drifted onto the right shoulder. He then overcorrected to the left, crossing both lanes of northbound traffic and crashing into the median wall.
Officers said the man died at the scene. They don't think speed or alcohol were factors but are continuing the investigation.
The man was not wearing his seatbelt when he crashed.
The crash, which happened near exit 94 on the south side of the city, closed northbound I-25.
