EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- Colorado State troopers have released the name of the woman who was killed in a crash on Highway 115 Saturday afternoon.
Troopers said 19-year-old Hope Pugh from Colorado Springs was the front passenger in a car that lost control around 4:36 p.m. and was hit by another car near mile marker 38, about five miles south of Colorado Springs.
A 2004 Acura driven by 21-year-old Melisa Loftin was going north on the highway when Loftin lost control, overcorrected and steered into the southbound lanes. A Subaru hit the right side of Loftin's car, killing Pugh.
The Subaru's driver, Jennifer Curliss, and the passenger, Ashley Hirt, both from Canon City, were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. Loftin was also taken to the hospital with injuries.
Pugh was the only one of the four not wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers said alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
