The Teller County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body was found in the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument.
Deputies tell FOX21 News they got a call about a male body located near a work shed around 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
No word yet on the race, age or whether this is a suspicious death.
"We're not sure a lot of times, things are hard to tell you have people who stage suicides, people who don't. In law enforcement we handle every death scene as a homicide until proven differently," Mike Ensminger, Teller County Sheriff said.
The monument is closed to the public at this time, while the investigation continues but might open Sunday.
The Teller County Coroner is expected to do an autopsy on Monday and hopefully will shed some light on what happened.
