SB I-25 shut down after serious crash

PUEBLO, COLO. -- Southbound lanes of I-25 are shut down near Pueblo Boulevard due to a fatal crash Friday morning.

Authorities said a Nissan Pathfinder overcorrected around 8 a.m. near mile marker 94 in Pueblo.

According to police, a 61-year-old male died at the scene.

There were also two children in the vehicle who were injured.

The 5-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl were both unrestrained and in sleeping bags at the time of the crash.

Authorities said both of the children were ejected from the vehicle,

The 6-year-old girl was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Denver, the young boy was taken to an area hospital.

Authorities said an adult female was also injured in the crash.

I-25 SB in the area is expected to be closed until noon Friday.
