Woman faces 60+ charges of check fraud

LAMAR, COLO. -- Lamar Police officers arrested a Springfield, Colo. woman Friday for check fraud, identity theft and theft.

The Prowers County District Attorney's Office gave officers a tip that Marylou Wallace was writing checks from a closed account. When detectives investigated, they found a victim's account was closed, and Wallace had been writing checks from that account.

Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Wallace, who had written about $7,000 worth of fraud checks.

She has a $12,000 bond at the Prowers County Jail.

Officers have not released any other information about this case.
