COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. --
Sunday dozens of people commemorated the Sept. 11 attacks by honoring those who serve the U.S. and continue to fight for freedom.
It's been 10 years since members of an al-Qaeda terrorist cell hijacked four passenger planes, killing nearly 3,000 people.
Isaac Garcia was just 2 years old at the time but fully understands the impact of 9/11.
"The military is out there serving for our freedom, and I'm out here with relaxation and free," Garcia, of Colorado Springs, said.
Sunday dozens of people, including members of the military, made their way to the World Arena to get a special behind the scenes look at active duty and pay tribute to the lives lost on 9/11.
"I think we sometimes take it for granted," Karen Predovich of Colorado Springs said. "Unless it's something that personally happens to us, like a disaster in our family. And we really don't know until it happens and then these are the people that come to our rescue."
LifeQuest Transitions, the organizers of Sunday's event is coming to the rescue of many wounded, ill or injured American soldiers.
Using music and song writing as a way to cope, many talk about Sept. 11 and the country's fight for freedom.
