COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- It is a day that the nation will always remember, the day the towers fell.

For people looking to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack, there is no shortage of events around the state honoring the memory of those that lost their lives.

The Air Force Academy will be holding back-to-back memorial and dedication ceremonies Friday morning in order to honor the past and present heroes who defend America's national interests.

The first event is the annual Homecoming Memorial Ceremony, which will honor 74 graduates who have died in the past year.

The second event will be the 9/11 Memorial Dedication Ceremony.

The centerpiece of the event will be a steel girder from the World Trade Center that is meant to serve as a daily reminder to cadets and staff of the sacrifices that were made on that day 10 years ago.
