CASTLE PINES NORTH, COLO. (AP) -- Authorities say a man who was run over by the garbage truck he was driving last week has died.

The Douglas County Coroner told KMGH-TV on Monday that 40-year-old Brian Rojas died at Swedish Medical Center on Saturday from multiple traumatic injuries.

Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Ron Hanavan says Rojas was standing as he drove the truck and fell out of the open-door cab when he leaned to move a trash can on Thursday in Castle Pines North. Hanavan says it's typical for the type of truck Rojas was in to stand while driving.

Rojas was conscious after the accident and was airlifted to the hospital.
