COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have announced they will conduct two DUI checkpoints in the city Labor Day weekend.
One will be Friday night, and the other will be Saturday night.
Officers said the sobriety checkpoints are part of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Checkpoint Colorado Campaign, more commonly known as The 100 days of Heat.
All drivers will be briefly stopped so officers can determine if they are driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Members of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and other volunteer personnel will be helping police officers.
Officers will not reveal the time or location of the checkpoints, but they usually run from late in the evening until early the next morning.
