Suicide prevention forum in the Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- September is suicide prevention month, and Fort Carson is looking to do its part to get the word out.

The Mountain Post is hosting its third annual Suicide Awareness and Resiliency Forum Thursday.

The forum focuses on the importance of strengthening the social, emotional, and spiritual fitness of every soldier.

It also aids soldiers in find coping mechanisms that can help them withstand the stress of military service.

Fort Carson's Army Substance Abuse Program is also helping to publicize the importance of suicide prevention and has educational booths set up at the post exchange and the commissary.
