COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating after a round of shots were fired outside a local apartment complex Friday night.

Officers were called to the Southpointe Apartments on Lakehurst Drive in the city just before 11 p.m.

When they arrived, they said a woman told them she was standing outside her building when a bullet hit her cell phone that was tucked in her pants pocket.

Remarkably, the woman was not injured.

Police also spoke with another witness in the area who said a bullet flew through his apartment wall, over his head, and then bounced off a wall behind him.

Investigators said they found several shell casings around the apartment complex.

They said several people told them the shots may have been fired from a sedan that was driving by on Jetwing Drive.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
