GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. (AP) -- Grand Junction city officials say they really didn't spend $12,500 at a local restaurant.
A commotion erupted when the city released its quarterly report on spending last month. One of the expenses was a charge of $12,500 at Naggy McGee's, a local eatery.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel the money was spent by the Downtown Development Authority's program to help update downtown building facades. Restaurant owners say they got angry calls and lost customers because of the misunderstanding.
