COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The Dougherty's week-long run from the law ended Wednesday morning near Walsenburg after a high-speed chase, shootout and rollover.
Newly-released 911 tapes detail the dramatic attempt by law enforcement and local citizens to capture the trio.
Dispatcher: All S.O. cars have a report that a Pueblo S.O. is behind a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle of the three fugitives from Florida.
After confirming the white compact on I-25 was the vehicle of the Dougherty trio, Lee Grace Dougherty, Ryan Dougherty and Dylan Dougherty-Stanley, it quickly turned into a high-speed pursuit.
The 20-mile chase ended in a rollover crash. Dylan was arrested on the scene, Lee Grace was arrested after a she attempted to shoot the Walsenburg Police Chief, and Ryan took off toward George's, a nearby restaurant.
Caller: Oh my god, he's right here at the back door, Pam.
Dispatcher: Don't let him in.
Caller: Lock the doors, lock the doors. He's coming right to George's at the back.
Shortly after, Shane, a construction worker, called 911.
Caller: He's headed to Pizza Hut, you'll see a blue Dodge truck parked on the side.
The call continued, and Shane and other men catch up to Ryan, the third and final suspect to be taken into custody.
Caller: Officer has him in custody now.
Dispatcher: He has him in custody now? Okay Shane I'm gonna go ahead and let you go. Thank you very much for all your help.
Caller: You're welcome, thank you.
