LONGMONT, COLO. (AP) -- Longmont has missed another deadline to deal with medical marijuana dispensaries, leaving their future in doubt.

According to the Longmont Times-Call, Longmont dispensaries had until Monday to withdraw their applications for a state business license, which cannot be approved while Longmont's ban on marijuana-related businesses is in effect.

If the businesses withdraw, they can move elsewhere and reapply.

If they don't, the state will deny the applications once the city takes action to close the dispensaries down.

Revenue department spokeswoman Julie Postlethwait says as long as the city lets the dispensaries stay open, the applications remain pending.
