DENVER (AP) -- The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the Front Range and southwestern Colorado.

The weather service says monsoon moisture will bring a good chance of heavy rain producing thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon in the mountains and foothills.

The flash flood watch goes into effect at noon.

Weather forecasters say the primary threat will be mud slides and fast rising mountain streams.
