COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Several members of the community gathered outside Russell Middle School Thursday night to remember the victims of a triple homicide in Colorado Springs.
Family, friends and classmates began lighting candles at 8:30 p.m. to honor the lives of 16-year-old Aaron Fix, his brother, 19-year-old Wayne, and 16-year-old Austin Howse.
Relatives of the victims said they appreciated the support from the community.
"It was an awesome thing to see," Bob Atkins, grandfather of the Fix brothers, said. "Maybe this will wake some of those people up to see there is a lot of good people in this community."
Atkins' grandsons and Howse were killed in a street shooting on Mira Loma Circle near Montebello late Wednesday night. He said he is disgusted by what happened.
"For a 24-year-old man to gun down three kids and not let them get out of the car," Atkins said, "there is no way to justify that. I hope the cops find him. Actually, I hope we find him."
Police identifed the suspect as 24-year-old Michael Agrangio of Colorado Springs. SWAT teams raided his apartment Thursday afternoon, but no arrests have been made.
