COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- It was standing room only as family and friends came together to remember the lives of Laurel, Hannah, Zoe and Lucy Constantinides.

The Colorado Springs mother and her three children were killed in a Wyoming flood. Laurel's husband, Dr. Alex Constantinides, is the sole survivor after floodwaters washed out their camground.

"I don't think we'll ever understand how this could happen to us. We're all feeling anguish, confusion and anger," Kyla Carlson, Laurel Constantinides' sister said.

More than 1,200 people ca me to reflect and celebrate a family that cherished every minute they had together.

The outpouring of support for Alex is a testament to the impact he and his wife have made in the community.

Of the almost 10 people that spoke during the service, everyone at the memorial had a positive story to share about Laurel, the three little girls and Alex.

"He gives 100 percent with whatever he does and never asks for anything in return. He's one of the greatest men I've ever been associated with," Chuck Daly, Alex's friend, said.

Though it was a day to grieve it was also a time to celebrate the fun, spunky personalities. Everyone in attendance gave a standing ovation clapping in honor of these four women that will never be forgotten.

Family and friends who have been touched by the Constantinides are asked to make donations to Half the Sky Foundation in honor of Laurel, Hannah and Zoe.
