COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs woman died, and two other women were injured in a crash near Black Forest early Monday morning.
Colorado State troopers said front seat passenger 24-year-old Kristen Twining died when the driver, 22-year-old Seraphina Twining, lost control of her 2010 Kia Rio on Hodgen Road near Meridian Road.
The car traveled off the north edge of the road for about 100 feet before hitting a tree and spinning around.
Seraphina and the woman sitting in the back seat, 21-year-old Jessica Twining, were taken to local hospitals. Their conditions are unknown, but troopers said they suffered serious injuries.
Kristen died at the scene.
Troopers said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
