COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are investigating a deadly crash that happened Monday evening in the 5300 block of Bent Bar Road.

The driver was trapped, and the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the scene.

Police said firefighters used the Jaws of Life to try to get to the driver but said it was clear he was dead.

Police said the driver rolled his car into the backyard of a home on Bent Bar Road.

Officers have not released the victim's name but have identified him as a 24-year-old man.

Neighbors said he lived in the area.

Police said the circumstances are unusual and called in detectives with the Major Crimes unit. They also said a gun was found in the car, but would not comment if the victim had any gunshot wounds.

The investigation is ongoing.
