COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Crews are working to put out two fires along High Drive in southwest Colorado Springs.
The fires started Monday afternoon in the area west of Gold Camp Road near Captain Jack's Trailhead.
One fire was on the Bear Creek drainage along the ridge, and the other is closer to High Drive. Both are in the Cheyenne Canyon area but are not threatening any structures as of now.
One fire is 1-2 acres and is just about contained. U.S. Forest Service crews are still working on the larger fire.
Aircrafts have been dropping fire retardant on both fires to keep them from spreading. High Drive remains closed, but all other roads are open.
Colorado Springs and El Paso County are both under burn bans.
