COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man is dead following a hit-and-run crash Saturday morning.

Around 1 a.m. Colorado Springs Police responded to a crash on South Circle Drive near Verde Drive

Investigators said 44-year-old William Byas Jr. was riding a bicycle on the right edge of the road when he was hit from behind by a car.

They said Byas was thrown from his bike, and died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the car, 50-year-old Mark Doutt, did not stop and drove away.

They said they received several tips about the crash, and Sunday afternoon they arrested Doutt in the Security-Widefield area.
