COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The Colorado Springs Police Department will be teaming up with other law enforcement agencies to set up a sobriety checkpoint Friday night in the city.

The Colorado Department of Transportation's Checkpoint Colorado Campaign program is one of the reasons for the coordination and implementation of the program.

The campaign, also known as the 100 Days of Heat, is designed to keep drunk drivers off the road.

All drivers passing through the checkpoint will be stopped, and police said they will quickly be on their way if officers don't find signs the driver had been drinking or doing other drugs

In addition to the police department, troopers from the Colorado State Patrol, representatives from Mothers Against Drunk Driving and other volunteer personnel will be assisting.

Police have not said exactly where or what time the checkpoint will be, but usually they run from late in the evening until early the next morning.
