PUEBLO, COLO. -- Pueblo area fire chiefs gathered this week to discuss their growing concern over fire danger and unanimously approved a move to stage II fire restrictions.
Those restrictions now include no outdoor welding or smoking, no sale or use of fireworks, no recreational burning, no charcoal grills and no camp fires or agricultural burns.
Penalties could include fines, confiscations, and mandatory court appearances.
Officials said the move is necessary in order to protect life and property.
The restrictions will likely remain in place until there is a significant amount of moisture in the area.
