COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- After a year-long deployment to southern Afghanistan, 250 soldiers are scheduled to return to Fort Carson at 7:30 Wednesday morning.

The troops are part of the 4th Infantry Division's First Brigade Combat Team.

While overseas the Raider Brigade worked closely with Afghan National Security Forces providing assistance for the Afghan government through combat troops, close air support, mine clearance and medical capabilities.

The welcome home ceremony had been set for Tuesday evening but was rescheduled for Wednesday morning.

Another 300 soldiers are expected to be welcomed home Wednesday evening at 6:30.
