COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- It took a jury more than eight hours to deliberate and find 19-year-old Logan McClelland guilty of reckless manslaughter in the deadly shooting of 50-year-old mechanic Brad Blehm.  According to investigators, Blehm, McClelland and his father, Tom McClelland, were at Big O Tires in Monument to have a tire repaired and got into a confrontation ending with shots fired.

"Bradley Blehm's family is devastated, they lost someone they loved very much. His granddaughter was born after his death. The defendant's family was emotional, they don't want anything to happen to [Logan McClelland]."

Reckless manslaughter is a class four felony and carries a penalty of 2-6 years in the Department of Corrections (DOC) in the presumptive range, and up to 12 years if the judge finds extenuating circumstances.

"I went out to break it up, and then I saw a young man jump out with a handgun, and I immediately stopped in my tracks," Michael Logan, a Big O Tires employee, said.

Logan works at Big O Tires in Monument and was there the day of the shooting in August.  He and Blehm worked side by side at the tire shop for a year-and-a-half.

The employees at Big O Tires have been following the case closely and don't think the presumptive range of 2-6 years in the DOC is a harsh enough punishment.

"Like myself, others won't think it's justified because no man deserves to lose his life," Logan said. 

McClelland will be sentenced Aug. 17.
