FOUNTAIN, COLO. -- Fountain Police officers are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a potential car buyer and fired shots at him Monday night.

According to police, the suspect arrived at the scene in the area of Southmoor Drive and Alegre Circle in Fountain to sell a car to the victim around 11 p.m. The victim allegedly called a telephone number listed after viewing a Craigslist advertisement for the car, and the suspect met him in a wooded area.

Police believe the suspect fled the scene in a purple Chevy Sedan.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.

The suspect is a black man about 20-30 years old. He is about 5'8" with a thin build.

Police said this case may be related to a similar robbery that occured May 24 in the same area. In both cases, a victim was robbed after meeting a suspect selling a Chevy Caprice. In each case, the suspect listed the sale price at $1,200-$1,500.
