COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police officers responding to a traffic crash found more than just a crumpled car.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Airport Road and South Chelton late Wednesday night for a crash.

They said a car traveling eastbound on Airport Road without its headlights on attempted a turn when it was hit by another car.

There were two children in the car trying to turn who were not properly restrained, but they suffered no injuries.

Police arrested the driver, 27-year-old Mahogany Aviles, after finding nearly 50 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle.

Aviles now faces several traffic charges as well as child abuse and felony distribution of marijuana.
