DENVER (AP) -- Another Denver police officer has been fired as Interim Mayor Guillermo "Bill" Vidal's term winds down.
The Denver Post Wednesday reports the latest case involves last week's dismissal of Detective Kenneth Briggle. A judge found Biggle in contempt of court last summer and ordered him to serve 37 days in work release. In a separate case, two officers were suspended for failing to obey department rules in the videotaping of an internal affairs police commander.
Vidal has made police discipline a priority after taking over in January for former mayor Gov. John Hickenlooper. Vidal has said the two years it usually takes leaves a cloud on how cases are decided.
Four officers have been fired in the past three months for lying in cases involving excessive force.
