COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A car lost control and ended up in someone's backyard in an early morning crash Tuesday.

The crash happened on Stetson Hills Boulevard near the intersection of Jedediah Smith.

Colorado Springs police said the car hit a guardrail, rolled, and traveled through a concrete and wooden fence before finally coming to rest in a neighbor's yard in the 5400 block of War Paint Place.

The 30 year old passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Both he and the 22 year old male driver were taken to a local hospital.

Police say that both speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash and that the driver will be charged with vehicular assault.
